Great Algarve Days Out – Aqualand

Visiting the Algarve will present you with a buffet of adventure and activities. Take your choice of Zoo Lagos in the western part of Algarve or bring the family to Zoomarine near Albufeira. There are also boat trips along the coastline for a more relaxing afternoon or burn off some energy playing a game of tennis or golf on one of the more than 35 golf courses. There is also biking, diving, horseback riding, kite surfing, microlighting, skydiving or wind-surfing.

If you are in need of a family activity that is a little more relaxed, holidaymakers in the Algarve need not look any further. For a great Algarve venue, grab your swimsuits and head to Aqualand. Aqualand is the largest waterpark in the Algarve and is easy to get to with its central location.

Located in the town of Alcantarhila, Aqualand offers a selection of attractions that are sure to suit the entire family. Some attractions at Aqualand include waterslides such as the multiple slide Anaconda. There is also the Banzai Boggan, which is a 23 metre high water ride or raft in pairs on the whirlpools rides known as Rapids.

Hop on the Kamikaze, which at 22 metres is the highest in Europe. Speed down the Crazy Race or take in Surf Beach which is the perfect place to enjoy a day, well, at the beach. Aqualand has built a mini park especially to accommodate its little guests. This children’s water park is contained in one large swimming pool and is a great option for small kids.

There are plenty of Algarve villas, apartments and hotels located around the theme park so finding holiday accommodation close by should not be a problem.
